Tak: a beautiful game by James Ernest for Patrick Rothfuss

tak

Here we see illustrious fantasy author Patrick Rothfuss and James Ernest, noted game designer, playing Tak in our living room. Tak is a game played in the Kingkiller Chronicle, and James has made it real. The Kickstarter campaign is going on for another week, and it’s doing spectacularly well, so hooray!

It’s a lovely game, simple to learn and fun to play. Also, the Kickstarter is offering some lovely heirloom boards.

As for our own Kickstarter, we’ve finally got the last of the data, and are nearly finished getting it all set up properly in the pledge manager (which isn’t yet open, don’t worry.) I have some things to do for the book printer today, so the pledge manager may not open for another couple of days, but we’re definitely getting there. I’ll be posting an update on the Kickstarter page itself when it’s time.

It’s Free Comic Book Day!

IMG_1923
A day when you can walk into any comic book store in this great land of ours and get free comics, a concept that sounds amazing when you’re ten, and only gets better the older you get.

Today I will be doing my part by signing at Arcane Comics’ new location. Yes, they’ve moved. Come in and check it out! And I’ll be there from Noon to 2, and I will cheerfully sign whatever you bring.

Their new location is:  15002 Aurora Avenue North, Shoreline, WA  98133.  (206) 781-4875.  (http://www.arcanecomicbooks.com/index.php)
