Soooo…the folks with the Catamancer online card game (now in Closed Beta) have shared the art for the Krosp card with us, and given us permission to share it with you!The whole game is looking hilarious, and really, really gorgeous, and we’re tickled to death that they asked permission to include Krosp. Here he is close up:So regal. Heh.
Hopefully everyone who backed our latest Girl Genius Kickstarter for ‘City of Lightning’, has received their Backer Kits. You need to fill it out so we can actually ship you your loot. We assume that you want the loot you have already paid for, so fill it out already.
I also was part of someone else’s Kickstarter. Zach Wienersmith of ‘Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal’ (http://www.smbc-comics.com/#comic) who works much harder than I do, as he gets a new page of hilarity up every goddamed day, made us a stretch goal, in that Kaja, Cheyenne & I created a new, one page Girl Genius comic about said Kickstarter, which was for ‘Single Use Monocles’, an idea we are very jealous we did not come up with ourselves. Anyway, we have done said comic, and Zach has posted it, and you may view it here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/weiner/the-gentlemans-single-use-monocle/posts/1566072), even if you did not back his Kickstarter. Which I think is mighty sporting of him
The Kickstarter campaign is almost over, and I’m still working on the design for the fob. Here’s what I’ve got so far!
I did it! So pleased with myself am I! I was afraid I wouldn’t get these done before the Girl Genius: City of Lightning Kickstarter campaign ends this Tuesday the 12th, but I did! Woo and also Hoo!
I still have several other tasks associated with the Kickstarter, but for now, I can go get food, play the Kitty Paw game my daughter bought at ECCC, and breathe for a while. At least until Phil gets home to do his pass on the comic page that goes up tonight…after which I have to finish that. It’s a full life…
Our Kickstarter campaign is ending on Tuesday the 12th…and I still have to do the Library pin, but here’s the patch design. It took SO LONG…I am slow. The silly thing is, this hasn’t even appeared in the comic just yet…but I wanted to make it… Anyway, my kids like it, so I guess that’s a win. Heh.
Our Kickstarter campaign is nearly over! We’re really close to the stretch goal that lets us add inserts to the Kickstarter medals. This is my favorite stretch goal, purely because it’s a fun free extra we can add to make the medals even better! My favorite stretch goals are the ones where I get to give the backers extra free stuff. I don’t think I’m cut out for business.
Today Phil is at the Emerald City ComicCon, and I’m home working on the last two pieces of design I need for this campaign: a patch and pin for the Incorruptible Library. These last two have been driving me crazy, but now I have the time to finish them, so whew.
Yesterday, we did a Girl Genius radio play at the con, and it went over very well! The audience was great, (in that they actually laughed instead of just sitting there and looking at us) and the actors we pulled from the audience (like we usually do) were really on the mark. There was a lot of enthusiasm, and that always makes for an energetic and fun performance.
We had to cancel our Kenpo lesson this week, because of all the timey-crunchy things going on, but I saw our instructor at the con. So I got to tell him about how, while at the booth, my chair got pushed aside as I was standing to talk to someone, and when I sat back down…it wasn’t there and I went…what’s the technical term? Ass over teakettle? I was so proud of myself…I slapped out beautifully and was completely unhurt. Of course, I looked ridiculous, and scared everyone around me, but yeah, I was pretty thrilled with myself. So…hooray for martial arts.
And that’s all the adventures I have to report today. I’ll be back later to pester you with those new designs!
One of our stretch goals was to do a second medal for the current Kickstarter campaign. Well, we met it, and now I’ve got the design finished. Cheyenne made it look all nice and 3d, and the pin manufacturer is working on the real thing. Here’s the concept art!
If you haven’t yet backed our Kickstarter campaign, remember that it ends on April 12. Thank you, everyone! –Kaja
